First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study tested a device that gently stimulates a nerve in the ear while babies bottle-feed, aiming to help them learn to eat by mouth and avoid needing a feeding tube. Seventeen infants with feeding difficulties participated. Some received the stimulation for 10 days, while others received none. The goal was to see if the stimulation was safe and helped babies take full feeds.
