New Parent-Led therapy gets babies with down syndrome babbling sooner

NCT ID NCT06450509

First seen Feb 27, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested a proactive speech therapy program called Babble Boot Camp for infants with Down syndrome, who often start talking much later than other children. Sixty babies under 12 months old took part, with their parents trained by a speech therapist via video calls. The goal was to see if starting therapy early could improve babbling and language skills, moving from a wait-and-see approach to early support.
