New telehealth approach enlists family to fight alcohol abuse in veterans

Summary

This study tests a brief family-involved treatment (B-FIT) delivered via telehealth for veterans with alcohol use disorder. About 400 veterans and a family member or friend will take part. The goal is to see if adding B-FIT to standard therapy helps reduce drinking and improve family relationships more than therapy alone.
