Promising combo aims to stop AML from coming back

NCT ID NCT04062266

First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether a combination of two chemotherapy drugs, azacitidine and venetoclax, can help keep acute myeloid leukemia (AML) from returning in patients who are already in remission. About 50 adults whose leukemia is in first remission but who are not ready for a stem cell transplant will receive the drugs as maintenance therapy. The main goal is to see how long patients stay cancer-free and to monitor side effects.
