New combo therapy offers hope for rare mucosal melanoma

NCT ID NCT05384496

First seen Mar 04, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study tests whether combining two drugs, axitinib and nivolumab, can shrink or control advanced mucosal melanoma, a rare cancer that starts in moist lining tissues. About 20 people with untreated, advanced disease will receive the combination. If the cancer worsens, some may also get targeted radiation or another drug (ipilimumab). The goal is to see if the combination works better than either drug alone.
