First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This early-stage study tested an experimental vaccine called AV-1959R in 16 healthy adults aged 40 to 60. The goal was to see if the vaccine is safe and can trigger an immune response against a protein linked to Alzheimer's disease. Participants received three shots over 14 weeks and were monitored for side effects and antibody levels. This research is a first step toward possibly preventing Alzheimer's with a vaccine.
