Cancer drug side effects: tracking the Body's Self-Attack

NCT ID NCT04220034

Summary

This study aimed to understand how often cancer patients develop autoimmune side effects while taking a type of immunotherapy called checkpoint inhibitors. Researchers followed 183 adult patients starting this treatment for the first time, tracking specific antibodies in their blood and any related autoimmune diseases that appeared. The goal was to gather better information to help doctors monitor and manage these potential side effects.
