Experimental ear implant trial halted after only 3 patients
NCT ID NCT06072040
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested an experimental ear implant (AUR-201) for people aged 8 to 29 with a condition called unilateral microtia, where one ear is small or missing. The implant was made from the patient's own ear cartilage and placed under the skin to create a new ear shape. The study was terminated early after enrolling only 3 participants, so we don't have enough information to know if it worked or was safe.
