First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tested a new treatment called augmented reality mirror therapy for people with complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS) in the arm or hand. Seven participants used a virtual reality system that showed a mirror image of their healthy arm, making their brain think the painful arm was moving correctly. The goal was to see if adding this therapy to standard physical and occupational therapy could improve arm function and reduce pain. Results are not yet available.
