New injection aims to cut pain and opioid use after knee surgery

NCT ID NCT06799845

Summary

This study tested whether an experimental injection called ATX101 could reduce pain and the need for opioid painkillers after knee replacement surgery. Researchers compared ATX101 against a saltwater placebo and a standard pain medication in 226 adults having knee replacement. The goal was to see if ATX101 was safe and more effective at controlling post-surgical pain.
