First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This early-stage study tests whether atezolizumab, a drug used for cancer, is safe for people with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), a disease that causes lung scarring. About 24 adults aged 50 and older with confirmed IPF will receive the drug. Researchers will track side effects and check if the drug helps stabilize lung function and reduce scarring.
