New pill combo aims to keep childhood leukemia away after transplant

Summary

This early-stage trial tests the safety and best dose of an oral drug (ASTX727) plus a growth factor (filgrastim) in children with high-risk acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who have already had a stem cell transplant. The goal is to see if this maintenance therapy can help prevent the leukemia from coming back. About 47 children and young adults up to age 21 will take part.
