Aspirin after preeclampsia: a simple fix for lasting heart risk?

NCT ID NCT06168461

First seen Jan 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking low-dose aspirin after pregnancy can repair blood vessel damage in women who had preeclampsia. Preeclampsia increases the risk of heart disease later in life, even in otherwise healthy women. Researchers will measure blood vessel function in 40 women who had preeclampsia in the past 5 years to see if aspirin helps. The goal is to find a simple treatment to prevent future heart problems.
