New stent graft shows promise for treating aortic tears

Summary
This study tested a special stent graft (a fabric tube supported by a metal mesh) to treat a severe tear in the main artery from the heart, called an aortic dissection. The device was placed in the ascending part of the aorta to seal the tear and restore normal blood flow. The study enrolled 21 people and looked at how safe and feasible the procedure was, including survival at 30 days.
