Summary
This study aims to understand how raising a patient's upper body (trunk inclination) affects lung function in people with moderate to severe Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) who are on a ventilator. Researchers will observe 40 patients to see if the benefit of this common positioning practice depends on the ventilator's pressure settings and how much of the patient's lung can be reopened. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors optimize care, not to test a new treatment.
