AR tech could make lung nodule localization less painful

Summary

This study tested whether augmented reality (AR) can replace the standard CT-guided hook-wire method for locating small lung nodules before surgery. 270 adults with lung nodules up to 2 cm were enrolled. AR overlays a virtual image of the nodule onto the patient during surgery, potentially reducing pain, time, and costs compared to the traditional approach.
