Could a chemo nausea drug help control blood pressure in diabetes?
NCT ID NCT02811055
First seen Feb 05, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This small pilot study looked at whether aprepitant, a drug used for nausea from chemotherapy, can change levels of aldosterone (a hormone that affects blood pressure) in people with type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Five participants took either aprepitant or a placebo for two weeks, then switched after a break. The goal was to understand how the nervous system might influence hormone production in diabetes, not to treat the condition.
