Smartwatch trial aims to Fine-Tune Parkinson's treatment

NCT ID NCT03741920

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested whether a movement-recording watch, called the Personal KinetiGraph (PKG), helps doctors make better treatment decisions for people with Parkinson's disease. About 231 participants were split into two groups: one where doctors used the watch data during checkups, and one where they did not. The goal was to see if having the watch information led to more medication changes and improved care.
