Apple pomace supplement tested for boosting strength in seniors

NCT ID NCT07562698

First seen May 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a supplement made from apple pomace (a byproduct of apple processing) can improve muscle strength and physical performance in older adults with mild sarcopenia, a condition that causes age-related muscle loss. About 105 people aged 65-80 will take either a low or high dose of the supplement or a placebo daily for 12 weeks. The main goal is to see if handgrip strength improves, along with other measures like walking speed and quality of life.
