New hope for kidney patients: experimental drug AP1189 enters trial

Summary

This study tests an experimental drug called AP1189 in people with a rare kidney condition called idiopathic membranous nephropathy that causes severe protein leakage in urine. About 23 adults will receive either AP1189 or a placebo for 12 weeks, on top of their usual blood pressure medications. The main goals are to check the drug's safety and whether it reduces protein in the urine.
