First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study looked at whether two common schizophrenia medications, risperidone and aripiprazole, affect the energy-producing parts of cells (mitochondria). Researchers measured changes in mitochondrial activity and related markers in 60 patients over 12 weeks. The goal was to gather knowledge, not to test a new treatment.
