Summary
This study tested whether taking an antioxidant food supplement along with probiotics could improve egg quality in women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). Twenty women aged 18-38 with PCOS and a BMI of 25 or higher participated. The researchers measured the number of mature eggs retrieved and checked blood and fluid markers for oxidative stress and hormone levels.
