First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at whether antibiotics given to babies early in life change how well their immune system responds to vaccines. Researchers will follow 200 full-term infants in Iceland, comparing those who received antibiotics to those who did not. They will measure antibody levels in saliva and blood after routine vaccinations, including the rotavirus vaccine, and also analyze gut bacteria from stool samples.
