Do antibiotics reach the pancreas? new study seeks answers
NCT ID NCT07084428
Summary
This study aims to measure how much of certain antibiotics given through an IV actually reach infected fluid collections in the pancreas. Researchers will collect small samples of pancreatic fluid and blood from up to 40 patients who are already having a standard drainage procedure for severe pancreatitis. By comparing these levels, the study hopes to gather information that could help doctors choose and dose antibiotics more effectively for this condition in the future.
