Summary
This study looks at how antibiotics like amoxicillin and metronidazole work in the body when used with deep cleaning for severe gum disease. Researchers want to find the best dose and duration to kill harmful bacteria while reducing side effects and antibiotic resistance. About 45 adults with severe gum disease will take antibiotics for 3 or 7 days, and their saliva, gum fluid, and blood will be tested.
