Summary
This study aimed to find out which of two common breathing machine settings is better for patients' lungs during and after surgery. It compared Pressure-Controlled Ventilation (PCV) and Volume-Controlled Ventilation (VCV) in 40 generally healthy adults. The goal was to see which setting led to better lung mechanics during the operation and better breathing function shortly after waking up.
