Breathing easy: new study tests safer anesthesia for throat surgery
NCT ID NCT05581485
Summary
This study compared two different anesthesia techniques for patients having throat surgery without a breathing tube. Researchers tested whether a sedative drug or a nerve-blocking injection worked better to keep patients comfortable and breathing safely during the procedure. They measured carbon dioxide levels in the blood and asked surgeons how satisfied they were with each method.
