This study compares two common types of anesthesia—general (you are asleep) and spinal (lower body is numbed)—for people having knee or hip replacement as outpatient surgery. The goal is to see which method helps more patients go home the same day without needing to return to the hospital within 48 hours. 600 adults aged 18 to 80 will take part and be followed for up to 12 months.
