New approach aims to stop coughing and agitation after thyroid surgery
NCT ID NCT07462195
Summary
This study is testing if adding a medication called dexmedetomidine to standard anesthesia leads to a smoother, calmer recovery for people having thyroid surgery. The goal is to reduce coughing and agitation when waking up, which may lower the risk of complications like bleeding. Researchers will compare the recovery of 100 patients who receive the added medication to those who receive standard anesthesia alone.
