Researchers probe link between low iron and enlarged hearts in kids

NCT ID NCT05816278

Summary

This study aimed to understand the connection between anemia (low red blood cells) and an enlarged heart (cardiomegaly) in children. Researchers looked at 56 children and teenagers with anemia, using chest X-rays and heart ultrasounds to measure heart size. The goal was to gather information to help doctors better monitor and understand the heart effects of long-term anemia in young patients.
