First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study tested a new tool called EndoFLIP to see if it can better diagnose anismus, a condition where the anal muscle doesn't relax properly during bowel movements, causing severe constipation. Researchers measured anal stretch in 61 adults with long-term constipation and compared results to standard tests. The goal was to see if this new method is more accurate and easier for patients.
