Could birth tissue ease bladder pain? new trial underway

NCT ID NCT06096597

First seen Jun 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 18, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tests whether injecting amniotic membrane (tissue from the placenta) into the bladder can reduce pain and urgency in women with interstitial cystitis, a chronic bladder condition. About 100 women who have not improved with other treatments will receive either the membrane injection or a placebo. The goal is to see if this approach provides meaningful symptom relief.
