First seen Apr 29, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether taking amino acid supplements, along with a structured diet and exercise program, can help people with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) gain muscle, lose fat, and improve physical performance. The trial includes 48 adults aged 18 to 50 with FSHD, plus a group of healthy volunteers for comparison. Participants will be monitored over two 6-month phases to see changes in body composition, strength, and walking ability.
