First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tests whether a special PET scan tracer called [18F]PI-2620 can accurately detect tau protein buildup in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease. About 200 adults aged 50 and older with a life expectancy of one year or less will receive the scan during life, and results will be compared to brain tissue analysis after death. The goal is to improve diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease.
