New hope for Alzheimer's patients: major drug trial seeks to slow memory loss

NCT ID NCT07251023

Summary

This study is testing whether an investigational drug called DMB-I can help improve thinking and memory in people with mild to moderate Alzheimer's disease. Researchers will enroll 450 adults aged 60-90 and randomly assign them to receive either DMB-I, a placebo (inactive pill), or DMB-I combined with an existing Alzheimer's medication. The main goal is to see if DMB-I safely improves cognitive function over 26 weeks compared to placebo, with some participants continuing for a full year to assess long-term effects.
