First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study looks at how well lung cells can repair themselves in smokers with and without COPD compared to non-smokers. Researchers will take lung tissue from 186 people having surgery for suspected cancer. They will grow the cells in the lab to see how many healing structures (organoids) form and how the supporting cells behave.
