First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether alteplase, a drug that dissolves blood clots, can improve drainage of fluid around the lungs and reduce breathlessness in people with cancer. About 30 participants with a chest tube that is not draining well will receive either alteplase or a placebo. The main goal is to see if the drug is safe and helps control symptoms.
