New PET tracer could spot Parkinson's protein in living brains

Summary
This study tests whether a new radioactive tracer called [18F]ACI-15916 can safely and reliably detect abnormal alpha-synuclein protein in the brain using PET scans. About 46 people—some healthy and some with suspected Parkinson's, Lewy body dementia, or multiple system atrophy—will receive the tracer and undergo imaging. The goal is to improve diagnosis and understanding of these diseases.
