New PET scans aim to spot Parkinson's earlier

Summary

This study is testing three new PET/CT scans to see if they can detect alpha-synuclein, a protein linked to Parkinson's disease and similar conditions. Researchers will scan 500 adults who have or are suspected of having these diseases. The goal is to improve diagnosis by measuring how well the scans identify the protein.
