New combo pill could slash worm infections in millions of kids

Summary
This study tests whether a single dose of a new albendazole-ivermectin combination pill works better than the standard albendazole pill alone to prevent soil-transmitted worm infections. About 20,000 school-aged children (5–17 years) in Ghana and Kenya will take part. The main goal is to check safety, and a key secondary goal is to see if the combo reduces a specific worm infection (Trichuris trichiura) more effectively.
