First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study tests whether adding a specific gut bacteria (Akkermansia muciniphila) to the standard drug infliximab helps heal the gut lining better than infliximab alone in people with Crohn's disease. About 400 adults with active Crohn's will take part. The goal is to see if the combination leads to complete healing of intestinal ulcers.
