Manikin study reveals best breathing bag methods to avoid stomach inflation
NCT ID NCT07591909
First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tested how different ways of using a bag-valve-mask (a device to help someone breathe) change the pressure in the airway. 46 emergency medicine residents used three techniques on a manikin with normal and stiff neck movement. The goal was to see which method keeps airway pressure below the level that could push air into the stomach, which can cause complications.
