Can cleaner air at home help overweight kids breathe easier?
NCT ID NCT02763917
Summary
This study is testing whether using air purifiers at home helps overweight children with asthma more than it helps lean children with asthma. Researchers are comparing real air purifiers to fake ones in the homes of 200 children in Baltimore to see if cleaner indoor air leads to fewer asthma symptoms. The goal is to understand if being overweight makes children more sensitive to air pollution and if reducing that pollution can better control their asthma.
