Summary

This study tests whether an AI-powered exercise bike can help frail adults over 65 regain muscle strength and mobility during a hospital stay. Participants use the smart ergometer, which adjusts workout intensity based on real-time heart rate and effort. Researchers measure changes in leg strength, walking speed, and frailty levels to see if the device supports early rehabilitation.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
AIoT-based Feedback Assistive Strengthening Ergometer
What this could lead to
If effective, this smart exercise system could offer a safe, personalized way to help frail older adults recover strength and mobility while in the hospital.
What could go wrong
This is a single-site trial with a device, not a drug, so results may not apply broadly. The benefits may be modest and depend on patient engagement and hospital routines.
