Doctors vs. AI: Who's better at predicting surgery risk?

NCT ID NCT07399938

Summary

This study compares how experienced anesthesiologists and artificial intelligence (AI) models assess a patient's risk before surgery. Researchers will give standardized patient information to four doctors and two AI systems to see how they classify risk, and then test if adding a frailty score changes their decisions. The goal is to understand differences in human and AI reasoning to potentially improve future medical decision-making tools.
