Summary
This study tested if a less invasive dental procedure called a full pulpotomy could be as successful as a traditional root canal for treating severe toothaches in adult molars. It also compared how well a new artificial intelligence (AI) software could spot tooth infections on X-rays compared to a dentist's assessment. The trial involved 58 participants with painful, infected teeth who were randomly assigned to receive either the pulpotomy or a root canal.
