First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study will check if simple methods like mouth photos, smartphone images, X-rays, and questionnaires can accurately find gum disease compared to a standard dental exam. About 2,000 adults will take part across five centers. The goal is to develop AI tools that make screening for gum disease faster and easier, especially in places without easy access to a dentist.
