AI vs. anesthesiologist: can a computer do the Pre-Op check?
NCT ID NCT07290647
First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study will see if an artificial intelligence (AI) tool can accurately assess patients before surgery, just like a human anesthesiologist. About 270 adults having planned non-heart surgeries will use the AI to answer questions about their health. A doctor will then do the usual check without seeing the AI's results, and a third doctor will compare both assessments. The goal is to see if the AI can help make pre-surgery care safer and more efficient in Brazil.
