AI could revolutionize cancer diagnosis with new pathology model
NCT ID NCT07157618
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study is developing an artificial intelligence (AI) model to help doctors diagnose cancer more accurately by analyzing pathology slides and patient data. Researchers will collect information from 2000 adults with various cancers to train and test the AI. The goal is to create a tool that can grade tumors, classify molecular subtypes, and guide chemotherapy decisions, ultimately improving patient care.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- deep learning-based pathology foundation model
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could lead to a more accurate and efficient AI tool to help pathologists diagnose cancer and guide treatment decisions.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early-stage development study. The AI model may not perform well enough in real-world settings, and results may not apply to all cancer types or populations.
