AI chatbot could ease weight gain fears in teens with eating disorders

Summary

This study is developing and testing an AI-powered chatbot that delivers exposure therapy to help teens and young adults with eating disorders feel less anxious about weight gain. About 20 participants will use the chatbot app as a supplement to their usual treatment in a partial hospitalization program. Researchers will track how often and how long participants use the app, and measure changes in weight gain anxiety and overall eating disorder symptoms.
